Oneh is a premium sock brand: Korean comfort and precision, made for Canada. Our client came to us with a problem most brands hit after launch, not before - the name was already taken. The original, Ongi, belonged to someone else. What needed saving wasn't the word. It was the warmth underneath it.
Ongi came from 온기 - Korean for warmth, the gentle heat that makes something feel alive. We kept the root and built around a name no one could take: Oneh, written in Hangul as 온애. 온 holds the warmth. 애 adds affection. Warm, and close - a coined name, fully ownable, and clear of anyone else's trademark.
Then the identity. The O mark is soft and organic, and holds two readings at once: a figure bent into motion, pulling on a sock - and the drifting, rounded form of the Korean archipelago the brand's comfort tradition traces back to. Custom letterforms, so the wordmark belongs to Oneh and nobody else. And a palette that walks straight past the beige-and-sage cliché every Korean-minimalist brand reaches for: Clay, Kelp and Blaze Orange against warm Linen.
One system, built to scale from the embroidered toe of a sock to a hang tag to an app icon to a shopfront. Premium comfort, Korean craft, a name, a mark and a world that could only be Oneh.
